Physical Difficulties Support Service - Introduction

The PDSS Team.

The PDSS is the designated educational specialist support service that supports children and young people with physical difficulties in mainstream settings and schools in Birmingham.

Our aim is to support and promote the inclusive education of children and young people with physical and motor difficulties in mainstream settings and schools throughout the city.

The PDSS advises schools and settings on compliance with the Equality Act 2010 and their statutory duties with regard to the SEN Code of Practice.

The Victoria PDSS is one of three PDSS teams based in local special schools (Victoria, Wilson Stuart and Brays Schools).

Our team consists of four highly experienced teachers with a wealth of knowledge and expertise. We provide advice and ongoing support for children and young people (and their families) with physical difficulties at all stages of their education. We work in over 150 mainstream schools and nurseries in South Birmingham with children and young people aged 3 to 16 .
