This half term we are looking at the ways that computing may be used to help us to investigate things. We are going to us our searching skills which we learned last half term, to find out more about the topic this year - Africa and the Middle East.
For this week (week 1 and 2) I would like you to think about the the way we learned to use the internet to find information. Remember:-
1. to use specific and detailed words. For example, instead of searching for 'dog', search instead for the dog using descriptors such as breed, colour, gender and hair type.
2. to look for internet sites you have heard of, or that have had the most enquiries.
3. to read through the information and find only what is relevant to your search
Activity - look up Zimbabwe and find out some information. In particular :-
Where is it?
How big is it?
What's the population?
What's the climate?
Extension activity: - find out five interesting facts about Zimbabwe and write them down.
You can submit your work online, or on paper, and send in the photographs of your work.
