This half term we are looking at what religion means to us. Over the year we have looked at a number of different religions, what makes them different and also what makes them the same. Some people follow a religion and others don't, and that's fine. We are all different and we all have different ways to live our lives.
This week (week 3 and 4) I would like you to think about what positive things people do in the name of religion. Think back to the story of the Good Samaritan that we looked at in the first term. He helped someone he didn't know who was from a group of people who were not liked by his group. But he helped him because he knew it was the right thing to do. His religious beliefs meant he overcame his feelings about the race of people.
Can you think of anything in the news that has happened recently when people helped others even though they were different or had different beliefs. I would be very interested to hear what you come up with.
