We are delighted to be offering free individual sensory music making sessions for six young people with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD) led by the Eye Music Trust.
What?
The Colour/Music Sensory Space has been developed through Eye Music funding and research with composer David Stevens. A unique range of special sensors has been refined and developed so that children can create and perform their own music whatever their limitations of movement. Movement, pressure/touch and distance sensors link to specially-created software so that children can sample their own sounds and create their own music.
Large architectural "sails" create a soft environment that will transform the room into a new world of colour and light. As well as playing music, the sensors control many LED lights, projecting all the colours of the rainbow on to the fabric “sails”, creating a new immersive world of strong therapeutic colour that the participants themselves control. Touch-sensitive paintings complete the "instruments" that the participants can use to create their own performances.
Individual sessions will be adapted to the needs of the young person and can range from playing the sensors and lights, to doing more structured/musical activities, with perhaps some sampling and playing of voices.

Rosie Kay Dance Company are planning Commonwealth Games proposal for a large dance participation and performance project in Northfield and Allens Cross next summer which would involve our school. They have been shortlisted for funding that will enable them to deliver the project but they need local residents to attend a short online meeting and vote so we can receive the funding and the project can go ahead.
We need at least 6 people for each meeting who live in either Northfield or Allens Cross council wards to attend the relevant meeting and vote. Can you please help us spread the word to release this funding for this community project to go ahead?
Northfield residents:
Tue 21 September 12:00-12:30 via Zoom
Register here: http://commonwealthnorthfield.eventbrite.co.uk
Allens Cross residents:
Wed 22 September 12:00-12:30 via Zoom
I’m waiting for a registration link but in the meantime people can email me james@rosiekay.co.uk
Thank you in advance for your help.
Best wishes,
James
