  • COVID-safe arrangements for pupils returning to school for Summer term 2021

Mon 19 Apr 2021 Julie Fardell

In line with the Government's "Roadmap out of Lockdown", all schools are now open to all pupils and it is the expectation that all pupils will be in attendance at school unless they are unwell or have an authorised leave of absence, have COVID symptoms, are COVID-positive or are isolating because of possible contact with a COVID-positive person, live in a household where another person has COVID symptoms or is COVID positive, or who have been instructed by their doctor to continue to shielding even though shielding advice was lifted nationally at the end of March.

All Birmingham Schools have been instructed to report the names of any children not attending school who is not covered by one of the categories above.

We have also been instructed not to provide remote / blended learning for those pupils who are at home, unless they fall into one of these categories.

We fully understand that after 12 months of shielding / isolation, many parents feel very anxious and are reluctant for their children to return to school. However, we want to work with you to overcome your anxieties and get your children back to school as soon as possible. Please contact your child's teacher or our Family Support Team, headed by Pastoral Care Manager: Di Tate, if you wish to discuss your personal situation.

The updated COVID Risk Assessment for Summer Term re-opening can be found under the "Key Information" Tab of the school website.
